Delegation of Women's Forum Georgia on march 18th, 2015 has conducted Side Event "Women’s Forum Georgia - Leading Power for Engendering Transformation of Society" in New York within the framework of the 59th Special Session of the Commission on the Status of Women supported by the Embassy of Georgia to US accredited by UN.

Main purpose of the side event was to discuss transformation processes in Georgia, existing challenges and prospects for achieving gender equality through communication, collaboration and consolidation.

Session was Moderated by Ms. Lia Nadaraia / United Nations CEDAW Committee Member.

On 22-23 November, 2014 in Istanbul was held the conference “Challenges and Perspectives to Empower Women in the South Caucasus”. The conference was organized by the South Caucasus Women’s Congress with support of Kvinna till Kvinna. The main theme of the conference was Women’s Rights in the South Caucasus: Domestic and International Laws; Women’s Political Participation in the South Caucasus; Gender Dimensions of Labor Market in the South Caucasus; Women’s Role in the Peacebuilding; Violence against Women in the South Caucasus.

On 16th November, 2013 in Tbilisi was held the conference “The South Caucasus Women’s Political Platform – Strategy to Promote Women’s Status in the Region”. The conference was organized by the South Caucasus Women’s Congress. The “Congress” is formed through the effort of the Women’s Resource Center – Armenia (WRCA), the Association for Women’s Rights Protection - Azerbaijan (AWRP) and the Women’s Political Resource Center – Georgia The main theme of the conference was advancing women’s rights in the region, to ensure equal involvement of women in political processes. In the entire region women are almost non-represented in politics and formal institutions, on its part the low level of female decision-makers in respective governments reflects negatively on policies and legislations.
